Our RU undergraduates have done it again. This Tuesday night—at 9 PM on 13 November 2012, to be exact—the Rutgers Classics Club launches the latest installment of its sensational “Professors Talk” series. You’ll want to head over to historic Scott Hall (Room 105) on the Rutgers College Avenue campus for this great event.
The professor in question? None other than Classics Department Chair James F. McGlew, who came to Rutgers in 2011 from the University of Missouri. His specialty is ancient Greece, especially its political culture and notions of citizenship in the Classical period.
Professor McGlew received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and is the author of Citizens on Stage: Comedy and Political Culture in the Athenian Democracy (Michigan 2002) and Tyranny and Political Culture in Ancient Greece (Cornell 1993, with paperback edition 1996).
The Facebook group for the Rutgers Classics Club is here. With movie nights, field trips, and loads of fun events all year long, membership in the Classics Club offers some of the most happening experiences available on the Banks. Plus fine dining is available just across the street from Scott Hall!
